Growth & Decline
Introduction
A feedback loop is a system which correlates to another systematic graphs, in the example when two factors correlate to each other the given results outcome is represented in a feedback. The system itself corresponds to the stimulus of the system thereby showing in the growth or decline of said system. As an example, the 2 factors that are affected can be time and growth/decline. Using the growth of fish population as one stock and time as the moving variable we can calculate the overall progression of the fish population over time. Those conclusions will be represented by the 4 different outcomes.
Key Concepts
Exponential Growth
The exponential Growth is represented by the time variable and the number stock, in this case we will be using Fish population from a pond. The exponential growth would show the steep growth over time starting from base population and increasing dramatically over period of time.
Exponential Decline:
Exponential Decline:
The Exponential Decline is an idea of the systematic decrease over time which would be represented by time over selected statistic, in this case we will once again use Fish. This graph would indicate the massive population decline over time, which would indicate that the stimulus of the system is causing a decrease of the fish population.
Goal Seeking
Goal Seeking
The goal Seeking is the fixed and desired outcome of the controlled system, within this system the outcome is predetermined by desired goal seeking. As an example for this graph the time and fish population will be once again used to give representation to the graph, however in this scenario the system will be represented by an empty pond which will represent the 0 starting point, over time fish will be added to the pond till the goal seeking will be achieved, in which case the system will be regulated so as to keep the fish population at a certain number.
Conclusion
The growth and decline loop is used to represent how the system evolves over time either growing in the process or declining. This method is used to have a better representation of the systems growth or decline and to show the potential ability for control of the system on its own. With goal seeking it shows the desired line which the users will be striving to achieve in the long term.
